DMT opens the first online store for testing and standard dust on the globe.

The website, which is the first in the world in this field, will be released on April 9, 2019. It will be available in English and German.

DMT has created this website in response to client requests for more and better information about dust and its applications. 

"Finding the correct dust for testing devices like vacuum cleaners, filters, and other items used to take a lot of time and effort," says Umalan Gogilan, DMT's Project Manager for Air Quality. 

Manufacturers of vacuum cleaners, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and filters test their products with dust according to industry standards before putting them on the market. 

They must first research which dust is genuinely named in the applicable standard before they may find the proper dust. 

However, this data is rarely precise enough.

"It might say Arizona test dust," Gogilan explains, "but it doesn't clarify which of four possible varieties is meant." The presence of the dust mentioned in the standard does not necessarily imply that it is the best dust for the manufacturer: "In the end, manufacturers want to develop better gadgets that do more than merely meet the basic requirements of the standard," Gogilan explains. As a result, DMT also creates test dusts for specific and unique requirements.

Customers' true needs are typically revealed only after numerous emails and lengthy phone discussions in which Gogilan probes them deeply. This takes a lot of time for both sides, which the new webshop will now save. "At the end of the day, we've translated all of our dust expertise to the shop, where our clients can see which dusts are specified in which standards, the structure of the dust, the particle size, and what it's used for," says the company. To locate the correct dust for a specific application, Gogilan recommends perusing the shop. "The more clients know ahead of time, the easier it is for them to find exactly what they need."
